Singapore is a city-state synonymous with innovation, opulence, & eco architecture; Park Royal on Pickering exudes all three
On my first day (out of SHN) in Singapore I remember being driven down Pickering, passing by the Park Royal. “Wow! What is that?!?!” I had never seen a building quite like it in my life. Since then, I have come to realize that Singapore is a hub of shocking and awe-inspiring architecture, but still… Park Royal is one of a kind.
I booked the collection Signature Room; it was flooded with light and boasted unencumbered city views. The decor was simple but thoughtful, the lite natural colors gave the room a clean and grounded feeling- even from 9 floors up. The built-in desk, window seating, and dining table offered ample space for me to work without cluttering the room. I particularly loved taking in park views while steaming up the shower- a treat for my inner nudist.

How cute are these recyclable waters by the bedside table? Many brands love to brag about how green and eco-friendly they are but I love to see a commitment to sustainable alternatives.
The Park Royal has earned a Green Mark Platinum rating, one of the nation's highest environmental certifications utilizing methods such as solar-powered irrigation, natural ventilation, and rainwater retention. It brings more than 15,000 square meters of greenery to the city, over twice the area of the site itself! They also, grow their own herbs and spices which you see while walking through the expansive gardens.

For every new building in Singapore there is a requirement to plant a certain amount of trees.
Did you know that Singapore’s National Park Services actually subsidize up to 50% of the installation cost to create sky gardens such as these all over the city? Sky-rise greeneries are not just for aesthetic purposes but they are also meant to help insulate buildings, improve biodiversity and retain rainwater.

Talk about Instagramable! Between this city-facing infinity pool, and these colourful chic birdhouse lounges I didn’t know where to go first! Staying on theme, even the fitness center featured floor-to-ceiling pool-facing windows. city-facing
